Said Darwazeh has chaired the Royal Jordanian Board of Directors since June 21, 2016, after he was appointed a representative of the Government Shareholdings' Management Company in RJ's Board of Directors on June 19, 2016.
Said Darwazeh is currently the CEO and Chairman of Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC. Between 2003 and 2006, he was the Minister of Health, Jordan.
He is also the Chairman of the Board of the Queen Rania Foundation, which focuses primarily on providing youth with learning opportunities and equipping them with the necessary tools for success such as ICT in education and online learning opportunities.
He is a board member of the Central Bank of Jordan and a member of the Board of Trustees at Babson College in the USA, and the American University of Beirut (AUB), where he also co-founded the Samih Darwazah Center for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship.
Said Darwazeh has a B.Sc. degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University in the USA and an MBA from INSEAD, France.
Mr. Bassem Al-Salem currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Capital Bank which he co-founded in 1995.Al-Salem's role as a chairman provides diverse experience in creating business value strategically, operationally and financially.
He also currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King's Academy in Jordan. Prior to that, he founded and managed a number of companies in Jordan, mainly in the industrial sector. Al-Salem also has an extensive record of public service that spans over 12 years starting as a Member of the Board of the Central Bank of Jordan in the year 2000 and as the Minister of Labor, Minister of Finance, and a Senator in the Upper House of the Jordanian Parliament.
Today, Al-Salem continues to serve on the boards of several organizations in the private and public sectors such as Queen Rania Foundation and University of Jordan. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College – UK
Mr. Malhas was appointed as Minister of Finance (2015 – 2018). He has over 20 years of diverse banking experience with outstanding achievements in all fields of operation, whereby he began his career at Housing Bank for Trade and Finance (1984). Mr. Malhas was also the Deputy General Manager of Doha Bank in 1999, a key manager at Alliance Capital International Bank - Bahrain Office in 2000 and Head of Treasury and Investment Sector at Housing Bank for Trade and Finance (2002).
Mr. Malhas served as Chairman of the Banking Group at the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance in 2009 until his appointment as General Manager (2010 – 2015).
He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration, specializing in International Finance and Banking from Birmingham University; and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana, USA.
Dr. Shibli started his professional path at the Central Bank of Jordan as an economist for the period 1991-2004. In 2002 worked also as a part-time lecturer in the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Jordan, Department of Economics, then moved to the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation for the period 2004 - 2007 as an economic advisor to oversee a comprehensive risk analysis system that anticipate future economic risk and recommend mitigation policies. Dr. Shibli was seconded to work at the Prime Ministry for the period 2007 to 2010, as an economist at the Millennium Challenge Unit, then moved to the Ministry of Finance to chair the Directorate of Studies and Economic Policies as a Director for the period 2010-2018.
Dr. Shibli's appointment as the Secretary General of Ministry of Finance on 30/4/2018. Before then, H.E took part in the several Governmental committees, worked as core economic team at Ministry of Finance and on IMF program, the World Bank and the Arab Monetary Fund. Dr. Shibli Main works in the economic and financial policy formulation and the implementation of important national and international programs such as the Economic and Social Reform initiative, the Financial Reform Program, the Modernization of Financial Management and the Revision Program with the IMF.
Dr. Shibli represented the Ministry of Finance in several institutions and companies in which the Government of Jordan have shares as a board member of directors, official committees.
Dr. Abdelhakim Shibli holds a Ph.D. in Economics specializing in macroeconomics and fiscal policy, from Leeds University Business School\ UK.

Mr. Nsairat’s educational background and experience in business and wealth management allows him to make the most of his knowledge and technical skills. Mr. Nsairat is a former Minister of Transport in the Jordanian government, where he passed a new aviation law through the Jordanian Parliament, and was the Chairman of the Steering Committee (2004 – 2007), overseeing the expansion of Queen Alia International Airport. Mr. Nsairat was also former Vice-Chairman for the Joints Chief of Staff (2002 – 2004) and attended Royal Air Force Staff College. He gained significant experience with pilot training at the United States Airforce (1968 – 1970) and has a Master’s degree in Political Science.
Mr. Nsairat was also an Air Force Commander at Royal Jordanian Air Force from 1999 – 2002 and was the Chairman of the Board of the Civil Aviation Authority (2004 – 2007), Maritime Authority (2004 – 2007), Jordan Hijaz Railway (2004 – 2007), Aqaba Railway Corporation (2004 – 2007) and a Member of the Board at Royal Jordanian Airlines (1999 – 2004).
Throughout her career, Ms. Rand Hannun has acquired extensive legal knowledge in areas of trade and investment policy, including free zones, investment laws, international trade agreements, trade and economic policy in emerging economies and legislative drafting and advocacy. In particular, Ms. Hannun has effectively participated in some of the region and Jordan's leading reform initiatives for economic development, including Jordan's accession to the WTO, the transformation of Aqaba into a Special Economic Zone, and regulatory support to the Development Zones Commission. She also has been involved in regional trade reform studies including being appointed as the lead legal and regulatory counsel with AECOM as a contractor to the Government of Kuwait to develop a master plan for the development of three economic zones in the State of Kuwait and the lead legal and regulatory counsel with Sibley International for the Tripoli Special Economic Zone Feasibility Study Project in cooperation with the Government of Lebanon. Currently, Ms. Hannun is involved in areas of corporate law, taxation, banking and finance, labour and privatization. She also lends her support through Nabulsi & Associates to a number of the firm’s clients operating in the various forms of the transport sector.
Ms. Hannun is currently a Partner at Nabulsi & Associates. Previously, she has served as the Head of Legal Department/Legal Counsellor at Taameer Holdings Jordan, a Senior Associate at Sanad Law Group, and an Associate at International Business Legal Associates (IBLAW). She has also served a board member for the World Services Group, a company based in the USA whose primary objective is to offer globally recognized resource for professionals and their clients to receive the highest quality, value and service from legal, investment banking and accounting services.
Ms. Hannun holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (LLB) from the University of Jordan and a Masters of Law (LLM) degree in International Business Law from King’s College, the University of London. She is a member of the Jordanian Bar Association since 1998.
Secretary General, Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities since Nov. 2019
Dr. Hijazeen holds a PhD in tourism management from the Catholic University- Eichstaett-Inglostadt, Germany in 2006. His Dissertation entitled “Tourism and local communities in Jordan: Perception, Attitudes and Impacts”. It examines the economic, social, and environmental implications of local communities in archaeological sites. The study was awarded the German Society for Tourism Studies (GDT)” Prize for a most excellent international study” at the International Tourism Fair (ITB) in Berlin in 2007.
On June 2017, Dr Hijazeen moved from Petra to Aqaba as Deputy Chief Commissioner of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and Commissioner for Investment and in charge of Wadi Rum protected area development project. He chaired the board of Aqaba Railway Co., Aqaba Facilities Management Co., and Vice-Chair of Aqaba Development Corporation.
On October 14th 2010, was appointed as Commissioner for Petra Archaeological Park, in 2012 was promoted to Deputy Chief Commissioner, and Commissioner of Park Cultural Heritage and Tourism Affairs. Before this position, he was appointed Chair of the Department of Cultural Tourism, and Assistant Dean at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Mutah University. He also held the position of junior consultant at the International Tourism Organization for Development and Investment (GATO) in Munich-Geramny.
Born in Zarqa in 1963, he was a full time lecturer for Tourism Studies and Heritage Management at Mutah University since completing his doctorate. In addition to scientific research, he commands several languages like English, German, and Italian. Mr. Hijazeen has many participations in international and national conferences. He is also a co-founder of two NGOs (Bait al Anbat and Turath) which work to preserve Jordan’s cultural heritage.
